The subject comprehensive assessment is a comprehensive assessment before the doctoral students enter the dissertation stage, which is organized by the college. The assessment results include the comprehensive theory written test results, the average scores of doctoral degree courses and the expert interview results. The detailed rules for the implementation of the comprehensive assessment of the discipline of 2018 level doctoral students in the school of mechanical engineering are as follows:

1. Written test of comprehensive theory of discipline (accounting for 10%): the content of written test of comprehensive theory of discipline is comprehensive discussion of mechanical engineering discipline. It is required to elaborate the connotation of mechanical engineering discipline, and elaborate the research hotspot and development trend of mechanical engineering discipline at home and abroad in combination with its own research direction. The number of words shall not be less than 5000, and the open book form shall be adopted. 5 blind evaluation versions (personal information of tutors and doctoral students) and 1 complete version (with personal information) shall be submitted to the college before November 15.

The mechanical engineering discipline is comprehensively discussed, and the blind evaluation method is adopted. Each review was reviewed by 5 experts. The evaluation experts are composed of experts within or outside the College (excluding tutors). See Annex 1 for the scoring table of comprehensive discussion.

2. Doctoral degree course score (30%): the average score of basic theory course and professional core degree course in the degree course accounts for 30% of the total score.

3. Expert interview (60%)

The doctoral students themselves will make a comprehensive report on the topic selection of the doctoral dissertation. The report time shall not exceed 15 minutes. Candidates are required to briefly introduce the research background and research objectives of the thesis, and introduce in detail the relevant research content, research scheme, key problems to be solved, innovation points, expected objectives and phased results achieved, etc. The expert asked questions for 15 minutes. The interview experts are composed of all tutors with doctoral degree. The expert interview score is the average score given by the expert (excluding the tutor score).

According to the comprehensive assessment results of candidates, the comprehensive assessment results of doctoral disciplines are divided into three categories: excellent, qualified and suspended; the number of doctors who have been suspended at grade 18 is no less than 2. After the assessment, the assessment results will be published on the website of the College of mechanical engineering. See Appendix 3 for the list of doctoral students who are required to participate in the comprehensive assessment of disciplines this year.

Doctoral students have two comprehensive assessment opportunities during the semester. Those who pass the first assessment temporarily can be assessed again six months later. Those who fail the two assessments will be dismissed.

Matters not covered in the measures shall be explained by the discipline comprehensive assessment leading group.
