On the morning of November 17th, Chinese volunteers from Jiangsu University and seven international student volunteers went to Zhenjiang Taigushan community to experience and learn traditional Chinese opera culture. Volunteers worked with the community to draw opera facial makeup and learn the meaning behind facial makeup. Then the volunteers put on opera costumes and followed the drama teachers in the community to learn opera movements. There are many schools of traditional Chinese opera, which are known for their rich actions and expressive connotations. Xiqu and Chinese ink painting are quite similar. They pay attention to the expression of intention. The abstract character images make the expression of Xiqu stronger, and also represent the cultural concept of freehand brushwork in traditional Chinese culture.
