Recently, the School of Mechanical Engineering held a lecture on the Excellent Engineer Program in the lecture hall on the 7th floor. Professor Xu Zhenying, the vice dean of the School of Excellence, served as the speaker. The lecture was hosted by the freshman counselor Yu Weijie. The 2020th mechanical undergraduates participated in the lecture.

At the presentation meeting, Deputy Dean Xu Zhenying introduced in detail the development history, project content, and characteristic measures of our school’s "Excellence Plan". Then Dean Xu showed the freshmen the effectiveness of the "Excellence Plan" of the School of Mechanical Engineering in recent years. As well as incentive measures, at the end Dean Xu also introduced the "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program 2.0", encouraging students to seize the opportunity to improve themselves and broaden their international horizons.Participants also asked questions about the training model, selection conditions, and postgraduate entrance examination employment options that they were concerned about. Dean Xu also gave targeted answers. The teachers and students exchanged actively and the atmosphere was harmonious.

The purpose of this presentation was to preach to the freshmen about the new concept of cultivating outstanding talents in the School of Mechanical Engineering under the background of the new engineering disciplines, encourage mechanical freshmen to learn professional knowledge, broaden their knowledge, and cultivate innovative talents with strong engineering practice capabilities.
