On the occasion of the 48th World Environment Day, young volunteers from the school of machinery, Jiangsu University, together with overseas students, went to Yuanyang community, guantangqiao street, Zhenjiang City, to carry out environmental protection activities with the theme of "low carbon with us". Parents and friends of the community take their children to respond to the concept of "low carbon and environmental protection".
At the beginning of the activity, the college volunteers first through the interpretation of several small sitcoms, vividly tell the children which behaviors in daily life can save resources and low-carbon life. Then, volunteers and parents together popularize the basic knowledge of children's garbage classification, and tell children which products can be turned into treasures with the common household goods around, so as to make resources reused. Next came the environmental protection bag production link that everyone was looking forward to. Chinese and foreign volunteers picked up cloth and brushes to stimulate children's imagination and make their own personalized environmental protection bags. Many children draw the ideal green earth on the environmental protection bag, so that the concept of environmental protection can be passed on to more people. At the end of the activity, everyone printed their own color fingerprint on the white T-shirt with "green in the heart, environmental protection in the hand", and made a commitment to advocate environmental protection.
The construction of ecological civilization is in a critical period. The purpose of this low-carbon environmental protection activity is to enhance the environmental awareness of young people and advocate community residents to build a resource-saving society. Chinese and foreign volunteers use practical actions to drive urban residents to work together to improve the living environment, so that the concept of "green water and green mountains are golden mountains and silver mountains" is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.
