On September 11, measurement and control technology and instrument specialty of the Mechanical College of the 2018 freshmen's introductory meeting was successfully held in Sanshan Tower 204. Xu Lin was invited to be the keynote speaker, and some professional teachers attended the presentation.

At the meeting, Professor Xu first introduced the source, connotation, role, development prospect of the measurement and control technology and instrument specialty, as well as the history and advantages and characteristics of this major, from the "Internet +", "industrial 4" and "China made 2025", to 2018 freshmen,and from the teaching staff, experimental conditions and other aspects showed the professional conditions of running schools for the students.Then, Mr. Xu introduced the training objectives, graduation requirements and curriculum system of this major, so that the freshmen of grade 2018 have a preliminary but comprehensive understanding of the overall requirements of the four years of college, so that they have a clear learning objectives, and pointed out the direction for their future study. Finally, Mr. Xu showed the freshmen the fruitful achievements of the students in the national and provincial competitions and scientific research and innovation projects in recent years, as well as the general situation of employment and further education.

Professional briefings, although only one of the many links in freshmen's entrance education each year, have been attached great importance to by the Department of Instrumental Science and Engineering over the years. Not only all the teachers in the school have participated, but also each teacher has introduced his or her own research field in detail, encouraging students to be diligent and inquisitive to participate in it as soon as possible, which has greatly benefited the students.
