To further strengthen mental health education, encourage young people to pay attention to their psychological well-being, relieve stress, and foster a warm and inclusive campus environment, the Psychological Association of the School of Mechanical Engineering at Jiangsu University organized an outdoor Mental Health Day event themed “Embracing Sunshine, Pursuing Dreams” at the campus's three-way intersection on September 19. Led by members of the association, the event attracted students, faculty members, and some of their family members.

Combining the distinctive features of mechanical engineering with the concept of psychological well-being, the event offered a wide variety of interactive activities. Through a 3D printing exhibition, students and children had the opportunity to explore creative products up close, experience the appeal of engineering, and relax. The “Emotional Tree Hole” activity provided participants with a space to write down their personal concerns, hopes, and aspirations, helping them relieve stress through written expression. Other activities included fun challenges and stamp-collecting games. Staff members patiently guided participants and provided detailed explanations, sharing practical knowledge about mental health and emotional regulation through engaging interactions. The event created a lively and welcoming atmosphere in which psychological care was seamlessly integrated into enjoyable experiences.

Moving beyond traditional approaches to mental health education, the event successfully combined engineering creativity with psychological care, introduced more engaging ways to promote mental health awareness, and effectively encouraged students and faculty members to attach greater importance to psychological well-being. Looking ahead, the Psychological Association of the School of Mechanical Engineering will continue to build on the school's distinctive strengths by organizing more creative and meaningful mental health activities. These efforts aim to strengthen students' psychological resilience and support young people as they pursue personal growth with a positive and healthy mindset.
