On March 11, under the guidance of the Jiangsu University Student Party Committee and with support from the “Yiyou” Science and Technology Innovation Workstation, the School of Mechanical Engineering, in collaboration with the “Yiyou” Science and Technology Innovation Counselor Studio, successfully held a campus information session and career guidance event titled “Precisely Matching Employment Needs, Working Together to Build a Professional Future” in the lecture hall on the seventh floor of the Mechanical Engineering Building. The event featured Zhou Yan, Recruitment Manager at Jiangsu China Tobacco Industry Co., Ltd., as the keynote speaker, and was actively attended by students from the school’s residential colleges. The event was hosted by Ye Xin, Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Office at the School of Mechanical Engineering.

At the start of the event, Zhou Yan, Director of Human Resources at Jiangsu China Tobacco Industry Co., Ltd., used a promotional video to systematically introduce the company’s development history, end-to-end production processes, and core businesses. She showcased the modern production facilities and actual work environments, and provided a detailed overview of the company’s benefits package. She then elaborated on the application requirements and evaluation criteria for the positions, extending a sincere invitation to students with aspirations, capabilities, and enthusiasm to join the company and grow together. Addressing the question frequently raised by students—namely, “How can I quickly adapt to the workplace and make the transition from student to professional?”—Zhou Yan offered specific advice. She encouraged students to actively participate in practical activities during their time at university to gain relevant experience, familiarize themselves with workplace norms in advance, and cultivate a sense of responsibility and professionalism. She also advised that, once employed, they should maintain a humble and eager-to-learn attitude, proactively adapt to the company’s pace, actively seek guidance from colleagues, and quickly integrate into the team.

This event provided students with a window into the industry, allowing them not only to gain a precise understanding of current market demands for talent and hiring standards, but also to closely link classroom theory with practical work experience, thereby charting a course for their future career planning and personal development.
