On March 10, to improve students’ resume-writing skills, enhance their competitiveness in the job market, and help graduates secure more comprehensive and higher-quality employment, the School of Mechanical Engineering—under the guidance of the Jiangsu University Undergraduate Student Party Committee—collaborated with the “Yiyou” Science and Technology Innovation Workstation, the “Yiyou” Science and Technology Innovation Counselor Studio, and Mengxi Academy to host a specialized resume-writing workshop titled “Stand Out Through Simplicity, Shape Your Future Through Career” in the Mengxi Academy conference room. Ye Xin, Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Office at the School of Mechanical Engineering, along with graduating class counselors Wan Yinchen and Guo Fengjiao, provided guidance, and students from the academy participated in the event.

During the event, the faculty advisors drew on their extensive experience in career counseling to provide detailed feedback on various aspects of the students’ resumes, including content structure, language use, and visual presentation. Addressing common issues such as vague information, a lack of focus in work experience, and unclear formatting, the advisors offered specific revision suggestions for each student. By taking into account each student’s academic background and personal strengths, they helped them identify their key strengths and highlight their advantages. In addition, the instructors provided targeted guidance on interview techniques and job-search strategies to help students enhance their overall competitiveness.

This event has effectively improved students’ resume-writing skills and further enhanced their career awareness and self-assessment abilities. Moving forward, the School of Mechanical Engineering will continue to refine its student development mechanisms, focus on students’ growth needs, and build a more targeted and student-centered support system to help every student take a solid first step and move steadily forward as they enter the workforce.
