On October 16, the School of Mechanical Engineering organized the Minority Students Symposium for the 2025-2026 academic year in Conference Room B410. The event was hosted by Instructor Huang Guoqing, with Ling Zhiyong, a faculty member of the College's Working Committee for Caring for the Next Generation, invited as a guest speaker. Representatives of minority students from the school attended the symposium.

At the meeting, Ling Zhiyong began by emphasizing the importance of loving the great motherland and carrying forward the national spirit. He pointed out that fostering patriotism is an essential awareness and sentiment for every student. He stressed the need for students to cherish their university years, develop clear academic and career plans, and encouraged them to participate in disciplinary and professional competitions when possible. By integrating theory with practice, students can continuously improve themselves.

Ling also actively engaged with the attendees to gain real-time insights into their thoughts, academic progress, and daily lives. He underscored the importance of adhering to university rules and regulations, promoting open communication, mutual support, and collaborative problem-solving. In conclusion, Ling analyzed the employment and postgraduate admission trends of minority students in the school over the past two years, encouraging everyone to build a solid foundation in their professional knowledge, stay informed about the job market, and prepare proactively for employment or further studies.

This symposium provided a valuable platform for communication between the school and minority students, while also offering crucial guidance to help students clarify their career planning. The attendees found the session highly beneficial.
