Professional Comprehensive Practice of the 2022 Cohort from School of Mechanical Engineering, Jiangsu University Successfully Accepted

On July 3, the defense for the acceptance of the professional comprehensive practice achievements of the 2022 cohort undergraduate students of our school was successfully held in Sanshan Building. More than 450 students from 8 majors of the school, including Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation, Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation (the Belt and Road Initiative), Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation (ME), Mechatronic Engineering, Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering, Measurement and Control Technology and Instruments, and Optoelectronic Information Science and Engineering, were divided into 92 groups. They collectively presented their two-year professional comprehensive practice achievements in 6 defense classrooms and successfully passed the strict evaluation of the school's expert group.

Professional comprehensive practice is a key link in the school's talent training system. It aims to deepen students' understanding and application of professional theoretical knowledge, and exercise their engineering practice ability, innovative thinking, and ability to solve complex engineering problems. The content of this practice is closely combined with the characteristics of each professional direction. Focusing on core fields such as mechanical structure design, manufacturing process procedures for non-standard parts, intelligent manufacturing system planning, mechatronic system control, intelligent perception technology, and optoelectronic system design, students completed challenging practical projects independently or in teams. Through cross-major team formation, the school's "Mechanical-Electronic-Optical-Instrument-Intelligent" professional cluster was connected. This not only cultivates students' ability to comprehensively apply the knowledge learned in their major, but also develops their ability to communicate and play a role in interdisciplinary teams.

At the defense site, the atmosphere was tense yet enthusiastic. Through carefully prepared PPTs, physical models, simulation animations, experimental data and other forms, students clearly and systematically presented the background of the practical project topics, technical routes, implementation processes, innovative highlights and final results. The evaluation experts carefully listened to each student's report, conducted in-depth and detailed questions and comments, and focused on examining the students' theoretical foundation, practical operation ability, ability to analyze and solve problems, and the quality of project completion. The experts' questions included both in-depth exploration of technical details and discussion on the feasibility of engineering applications, providing students with valuable improvement suggestions and future learning directions.

The successful acceptance of this professional comprehensive practice is not only a test of the phased learning achievements of the 2022 cohort students, but also a concentrated reflection of the school's effectiveness in practical education. It has accumulated valuable practical experience for students' subsequent professional course learning, graduation design, and future entry into the workplace. Our school will continue to optimize the practical teaching system, strengthen the integration of industry and education, provide students with a higher-quality engineering practice platform, and help students grow into talents.
