The School of Mechanical Engineering successfully held the "Innovation with Chapters, Patent Sailing" patent application experience sharing event

On November 4th, relying on the Party building and ideological platform "Yiyou" Science and Technology Innovation Workstation, the School of Mechanical Engineering, together with the "Yiyou" Science and Technology Innovation Counselor Studio, Hongjiang Academy, and Zhongling Academy, held a patent application experience sharing session with the theme of "Innovation with Seal, Patent Sailing" in the seventh floor lecture hall of the Machinery Building. The event invites Jiang Gaoqiang and Du Jialong, PhD students from the School of Mechanical Engineering, as keynote speakers. Graduate students from the school actively participate in the event.

At the beginning of the event, Jiang Gaoqiang focused on sharing basic knowledge of patents, methods for writing patent disclosure materials, and related content such as patent search. Starting from the types of patents and the conditions for granting patent rights, combined with typical patent cases, he gave a clear and concise explanation, and introduced the usage methods of free patent search platforms such as SOOpat and incoPat on site. Du Jialong systematically explained the key process of patent writing from four aspects: target problem, conceptual plan, practicality evaluation, and preliminary writing. In the section on target issues, he pointed out that before writing a patent, it is necessary to thoroughly read the literature and gain a deep understanding of the shortcomings and areas for improvement in the field of technology; In the conceptual plan section, he emphasized the need to draw on the latest developments in other related technical fields and expand solutions; In the practical evaluation stage, he reminded everyone to ensure that their ideas are theoretically feasible; In the preliminary writing section, it specifically introduces how to systematize and document creative ideas to form a preliminary patent document. During the interactive communication session, students on site actively asked questions and engaged in lively and in-depth exchanges with two senior students. Faced with the doubts of the classmates, the seniors provided detailed and patient answers, and encouraged everyone to plan early and try boldly. This section further deepened students' understanding of the patent writing process and methods, and stimulated their practical enthusiasm.

This exchange has pointed out the direction for students who are new to scientific research. It is not only a transfer of knowledge, but also a continuation of the scientific research spirit, vividly demonstrating the excellent academic atmosphere of the college's "mentoring". I hope that students can turn what they have learned into practical applications, bravely explore and continue to grow on their future research paths, and bloom with their own brilliance.
