To cultivate the patriotism of young students, strengthen the ideals and beliefs of youth in the new era, and further inherit the legacy of revolutionary ancestors, the School of Mechanical Engineering held a Qingming Festival martyr commemoration activity themed "Commemorating Revolutionary Martyrs, Pursuing Red Memories" at "Wang Long Pavilion" — the patriotic education base of Jiangsu University on April 9. Ling Zhiyong (teacher from the Care Committee for the Growth of Young People (CCPE) of the School of Mechanical Engineering), all Party branch secretaries, representative of academy counselors, representative of student Party members, and representative of active Party members participated in the activity.

At the beginning of the activity, Ling Zhiyong solemnly and seriously introduced the life experience and heroic deeds of Comrade Wang Long to the students in front of the Martyr Pavilion. Teachers and students present were deeply moved by Comrade Wang Long's strong revolutionary will and lofty pursuit of sacrificing his life for the great ideal of communism. Subsequently, all participants, with reverence, observed a moment of silence to pay tribute to revolutionary martyrs represented by Comrade Wang Long, expressing their deep memory of the martyrs. In the solemn atmosphere, everyone walked around the martyr's tomb in an orderly manner, bowed to the tomb, and laid white flowers.

Finally, under the leadership of Wang Xianliang, Secretary of the Second Party Branch of Undergraduates, all Party members took the Party membership oath facing the Party flag. The resounding oath echoed in front of "Wang Long Pavilion", expressing the Party members' firm belief in being loyal to the Party and devoting their lives to the cause of communism. Under the leadership of Yu Weijie, Deputy Secretary of the School Youth League Committee, all League members took the League membership oath facing the League flag, demonstrating the positive and responsible spiritual outlook of young students in the new era and further strengthening their determination to strive for communism.

This Qingming Festival martyr commemoration activity is not only a memory of revolutionary martyrs but also a vivid patriotic education lesson. Through the activity, students deeply realized the hard-won nature of revolutionary victory. They all said that they would take revolutionary martyrs as examples, inherit the red gene, study hard, and contribute their strength to the realization of the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. The school will also continue to carry out various patriotic education activities to guide teachers and students to remember history, stay true to their original aspirations, and forge ahead.
