To further enrich the campus cultural life, enhance the cohesion and centripetal force of the college's faculty and staff, and strengthen the profound friendship between teachers and students of the college, on January 15, the School of Mechanical Engineering held a New Year gala themed "Golden Dumplings Celebrate the New Year, Unite to Pursue Dreams and Write a New Chapter" in the Faculty Canteen. The event invited all members of the college's Party and administrative leadership team, retired teachers in the past five years, all faculty and staff of the college, international students, and ethnic minority students to participate. It was hosted by Huang Guoqing and Guo Fengjiao, counselors of the Student Affairs Office.

The event was mainly divided into two parts: the Guandan (a popular card game in China) competition and the gala. In the Guandan competition, the college's teachers formed teams on their own, cooperated with tacit understanding, and launched a fierce competition.

After multiple rounds of competition, teachers including Mao Weiping won the first prize, teachers including Pang Wei won the second prize, and teachers including Chen Jin won the third prize. Pan Hongjun, Secretary of the Party Committee of the college, presented awards to the winning teams.

At the gala, Dean Zhang Zhongqiang delivered a welcome speech. He briefly reviewed the excellent achievements made by the college in the past year and expressed gratitude to all teachers and students for their hard work. At the same time, he enthusiastically encouraged teachers and students of the college to continue to work together and forge ahead in the new year, with a mindset of starting anew, a stance of taking the lead in the charge, and a state of striving for practical results, to inject new and strong momentum into the development of the university's undertakings.

Subsequently, wonderful cultural performances were staged in turn. Teacher Liu Wensheng sang the song "You" affectionately, and his touching singing won warm applause from the audience. Teachers Yu Weijie and Wan Yinchen sang the duet "Blue and White Porcelain" with a beautiful melody, showing the positive and upbeat spiritual outlook of the college's young teachers who love life. Teacher Du Kang performed the song "Tomorrow Will Be Better", expressing the good wishes of the college's teachers and students for the college and their confidence in forging ahead in the new era.

During the gala, the carefully arranged lottery and lantern riddle guessing interactive sessions pushed the on-site atmosphere to a climax. Teachers and students participated actively with high enthusiasm, and laughter echoed throughout the canteen. Everyone tasted delicious dumplings while chatting warmly in a joyful and peaceful atmosphere, sharing happiness and joy.
