In order to further inherit and carry forward the spirit of scientists, relying on the “Yiyou” science and innovation workstation of Jiangsu University, the School of Mechanical Engineering, in cooperation with the Party and Work Committee of the Student Community of Jiangsu University and Hongjiang Academy, carried out a movie watching activity on the topic of “Two bombs and one star” in the meeting room of Hongjiang Academy on November 7th. The activity was organized by the Office of Student Workers of the College of Mechanical Engineering. The activity was led by Ye Xin, deputy director of Mechanical College Academic Work Office, and Li Hongyu, counselor, with the active participation of students from the college and academy.

The movie vividly reproduced the new China was founded to achieve national defense modernization and scientific and technological independence of the arduous and brilliant course, a group of Chinese scientists full of ideals resolutely gave up the superior working and living conditions overseas, chose to return to the motherland. Under the double challenges of international blockade and lack of domestic resources, they broke through the technical barriers and successfully completed the “Two Bombs and One Star” experiments by virtue of their firm ideals and excellent wisdom, which significantly promoted the leapfrog development of China's nuclear science and technology and aerospace field. After watching the movie, everyone expressed that they were deeply touched and inspired, and became more determined to contribute to the development of national science and technology.

This activity enables teachers and students to deeply understand and feel the spirit of scientific research predecessors struggling for science, and inspires them to continue to adhere to the original intention, carry forward the spirit of scientists, and bravely take up the responsibility given by the times in their future study and work.
