In order to deeply study and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and to guide our college's student activists seeking to join the Party to correct their motivations for joining, strengthen their ideals and beliefs, refine their moral character, and acquire solid skills, on May 10, 2024, the Mechanical Engineering College held a lecture on the theme of "Correcting Motivations for Joining the Party and Striving to Take Responsibility and Act" in the seventh-floor lecture hall. The lecture was delivered by Tang Jingxia, the deputy director of the School Care Committee, and presided over by Zhang Liming, the vice secretary of the Party Committee of the Mechanical Engineering College. Huang Qitao, the secretary of the Care Committee of the Mechanical Engineering College, and all activists seeking to join the Party in 2024 participated in the event.

In this lecture, Tang Jingxia put forward requirements for the activists seeking to join the Party in attendance from three aspects. Firstly, combining her own experiences and observations during her growth, Tang led everyone to appreciate how our country has developed and become prosperous step by step under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. She proposed the requirement of "strengthening ideals and beliefs, and cultivating Party spirit." Secondly, starting from her own experience, Tang shared the story of why she applied to join the Party, how she passed the tests of the Party organization, and finally became a member of the Communist Party of China. She put forward the requirement of "correcting motivations for joining the Party and accepting organizational tests." Finally, Tang shared her experiences and insights from the beginning of her work until now, emphasizing the importance of having ideals, pursuits, responsibilities, achievements, qualities, and accomplishments. She encouraged everyone to be strong in ideological spirit, ability and quality, as well as in their career pursuits. She concluded by proposing the requirement of "honing original aspirations and missions, striving to take responsibility and act."

In this lecture, Tang Jingxia expressed her fervent hopes for the activists seeking to join the Party in attendance, wishing that everyone can learn with reflection, gain insights, and achieve success. The activists seeking to join the Party also expressed their commitment to cultivating a spirit of responsibility in their future studies, living up to the expectations of the times, their youth, and the Party and the people, striving to become promising young people of the new era.
