To help 2023 students clear academic goals and enhance learning motivation, on the morning of 26 September, the School of Mechanical Engineering held an academic planning guidance seminar in the college's seventh-floor auditorium, the activity invited the college's deputy secretary of the party committee and vice president Zhang Liming to give a speech, the college's first-year counselor Wang Xianliang and the 2023 students participated in the meeting.

During the lecture, Secretary Zhang Liming communicated with the students about the formulation of academic and career planning, quiet and hard study, reasonable allocation of time, improving the efficiency of research, and enhancing their comprehensive strength, etc. She guided the freshmen to make three changes effectively, i.e.: change of roles, change of tasks, and change of attitudes, and to integrate into the new life of the university as early as possible.

Secretary Zhang Liming stressed that new undergraduates should firmly grasp the three "keywords": one is the credit grade point, in the course of the class, do not be late, do not leave early, not absenteeism, and conscientiously completing the academic tasks assigned by the school, and strive to improve the course grades. Secondly, for exams, it is important to prepare early, not procrastinate mentally, and take every step practically. Third, international vision, more "go out" to understand and learn more international advanced research direction and academic achievements, scientific research should be boldly questioned, the courage to innovate, to become a solid foundation of the discipline, fruitful scientific research, have the responsibility to take on the responsibility of senior specialists, and to make more contributions to the manufacture of China.
