On May 17, the Mechanical College held the "My Youth Story at Jiangsu University" series event, featuring the "Strategic Planning and Adequate Preparation" opening thesis experience sharing session at the seventh-floor auditorium of the Mechanical Building. Six outstanding graduate students, Yang Hongwei, Xing Yu, Rao Junsen, Zhou Ting, Leng Zhihao, and Xue Yan, were invited as keynote speakers, with over 80 graduate students from the college participating in the event.

Yang Hongwei provided a detailed introduction to the materials needed for the opening thesis, combining it with examples from the opening defense PPT. He highlighted key points in each section of the opening report and used "pre-research experiments" as a starting point to share relevant skills for opening defense. Xing Yu, drawing from personal experience, focused on key sections such as research content and progress. Rao Junsen dissected the internal logic of the opening report to guide students in clarifying their thoughts on writing the opening report, sharing insights gained from his own "paths and pitfalls" in the opening work. Zhou Ting offered various ways and methods to improve PowerPoint presentation skills, sharing high-quality resources in the relevant research field. Leng Zhihao emphasized techniques for summarizing innovative points in one's own project and advised students to select high-quality, high-impact factor literature as references. Xue Yan stressed the research attitude of "details determine success or failure," providing a detailed explanation of the nuances to be aware of during the opening defense and the layout and formatting issues of the opening PPT. Subsequently, students at the venue posed questions and engaged in discussions with the speakers on various aspects.

This experience sharing session helped students comprehensively grasp the overall ideas and requirements of the opening work, encouraging them to plan their research early and solidify the foundation for the subsequent progress of their research work.
