On March 24, the School of Mechanical Engineering Committee of the School of Mechanical Engineering held a "Understanding of China" activity review meeting in the School’s Care and Talking Room. The teacher of the School of Mechanical Engineering Ling Zhiyong and instructors of all grades participated , The event was hosted by Yu Weijie, secretary of the Guan Gong Committee. The theme of this "Understanding China" activity is "tell the story of joining the party and inherit the red gene". It aims to guide young students to love the party, the country, and socialism, cultivate young students' faith and loyalty to the party, and stimulate students' Patriotism and national pride.
This "Understanding China" series of activities lasted one month and was divided into two parts: soliciting essays and short videos, and reading and sharing. At the beginning of February, the collection of "Understanding China" works began. The activity was open to all young students of the School of Mechanical Engineering. It received positive responses from students of all grades and majors. A total of more than 40 submissions and 10 short videos were received. After careful selection by teacher Ling Zhiyong of the School of Mechanical Engineering, Youth League Committee teacher Hong Yajie, and instructors of all grades, 29 outstanding works finally came to the fore. At the review meeting, Ling Zhiyong commented on the works of the students, fully affirmed the activity, and suggested that more such activities should be held; at the same time, he pointed out that a small number of students had partial questions when writing essays, lacking offline and The process of online communication has led to the lack of true feelings for communication with old party members in works such as essays and short videos. The video content should be more substantial and emotional.
In addition, for freshmen, the evening self-study time was used to carry out reading exchanges and sharing. Every student came to the stage to talk about the red stories around them, the spirit of the two sessions, etc., fully expressing their enthusiasm and confidence in the party and the motherland. With the end of the work review, the entire series of activities came to a successful conclusion.
The purpose of this event is to guide young students to understand the original intention and history of joining the party of the older generation of party members around them, as well as the touching deeds and true perceptions of their struggle for the party.
