From May 5th to 7th, the final of the 2nd China University Intelligent Robot Creative Competition was held in Yuyao, Zhejiang. After fierce competition on the spot, two teams from Jiangsu University stood out. The “Taking Robots”, which was directed by the teachers of Yuan Hao and Sun Jianrong of the School of Mechanical Engineering, won the second prize of creative design category. The fighting was directed by the industrial center Fang Yijun and Zhang Xinxing. The robot won the third prize in the Creative Fighting category.
The competition was co-sponsored by the China Higher Education Institute and the Teaching and Instruction Subcommittee of the Engineering Graphics Course of the Ministry of Education. The Robotics Research Institute of Zhejiang University, the Engineering Education Professional Committee of the Chinese Higher Education Institute, and the Robotics and Applications magazine. Since the launch of the competition in December 2018, it has received extensive attention and enthusiastic response from college teachers and students nationwide. Creative design and creative sports have attracted a total of 1,060 participating teams from 239 colleges and universities across the country, and creative fighting classes have attracted 782 participating teams from 221 colleges and universities signed up for the competition. After reviewing the relevant registration materials, 1,046 works entered the preliminary examination stage, and 494 works were selected for the finals.
Our school participated in the National Intelligent Robot Creative Competition for the first time. The school-level competition was hosted by the School of Mechanical Engineering. After the school-level preliminary and finals, a total of 8 teams were selected to participate in the national preliminaries and rematches. Two of the teams passed the preliminary review and the excellent design. After reviewing and selecting, he successfully entered the national competition and achieved good grades in the second and third grades.
This competition provided a good practice, learning and communication platform for teachers and students of our school, opened up the vision of teachers and students, fully demonstrated the achievements of students' scientific and technological innovation work, and promoted the school's further deepening of engineering innovation education reform effect.
