From April 17th to 19th, the 2nd China Intelligent Manufacturing Conference and China Intelligent Equipment Technology and Application Trade Fair was held in 2019 at the New Beacon Kailong International Hotel in Wuhan, Hubei Province. This conference was organized by China Mechatronics Technology. Application Association, China Mechanical Engineering Society Machinery Industry Automation Branch, China Automation Society Manufacturing Technology Professional Committee, China Intelligent Manufacturing 100 People's Association, etc. More than 200 people from research institutes, universities and enterprises attended the event. Professor Gu Sendan, Associate Professor Mao Weiping and Dr. Zhang Xinzhou from the Department of Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering of our institute were invited to participate in this conference, and conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions with the participating experts and related enterprises on the construction of intelligent manufacturing engineering.

At the conference, Academician Zhao Yusheng of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Liu Jun, former inspector of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology, member of the Advisory Committee of the Intelligent Manufacturing Experts of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Professor Tao Fei of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and Professor Gui Lin, the chief scientist of China Ordnance Group Well-known experts such as Dr. Liu Yanqiang, Senior Technical Consultant of Beckhoff Automation Co., Ltd., and Ms. Ming Cuixin, Secretary General of the National Technical Standardization Technical Committee, have made academic frontiers, latest research results and applications, and future development directions in the field of intelligent manufacturing. The conference report, the teachers and participants of the Institute and the business people discussed the latest research trends and market demand in the field of intelligent manufacturing, expanded our school's reputation in this field, and achieved good academic and social effects.

After the meeting, Professor Gu Sendan and Dr. Zhang Xinzhou were invited to visit Wuhan Kubot Technology Co., Ltd., and the two sides had in-depth exchanges on technical issues such as intelligent manufacturing, robotics, machine vision, and cooperation in scientific research projects. Preliminary discussions were held on the construction of graduate students, laboratory construction and student internship bases, which laid the foundation for further cooperation in the future.
