From April 10th to 13th, the 8th International Conference of Fluid Power and Mechatronics (FPM2019) was held in Wuhan Donghu Hotel. The conference was greatly supported by the China Mechanical Engineering Society, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the IEEE, and the Global Fluid Power Association (GFPS). More than 500 experts representative from China, Germany, Japan, the United States, Northern Europe and other countries and regions attended the event. Associate Professor Xie Fangwei, Qian Pengfei and teacher Zhang Bing from the Department of Electromechanical Engineering of our institute led 7 postgraduate students to participate in the conference and made an oral presentation and a poster presentation.
At the conference, Academician Yang Huayong of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor Katharina Schmitz, Institute of Fluid Powers and Systems, RWTH Aachen University, Professor Kim A.Stelson of the University of Minnesota, Professor Jouni Mattila, Institute of Machine Automation, University of Tampere, and Professor YutakaTANAKA of University of Hosei, and all other fifteen world-renowned scholars gave a conference report on the issues of hydraulic component additive manufacturing, future contribution of fluid power, energy saving and noise reduction, and applications in the ocean and space. The wonderful reports brought Academic frontiers, latest research results and future directions in the field to the participants. Teachers and students of our institute discussed the latest research trends and market demands of fluid power and mechatronics in the future equipment manufacturing field, enhanced communication with domestic experts in related fields, further expanded our influence in this field, and gained good Academic and social influences.
The International Conference on Fluid Power and Mechatronics (FPM) has a high international influence. Since 1991, it has been held every four years and successfully held for seven times.
