On September 9, the leadership team of the School of Mechanical Engineering went to the School of Mechanical Engineering, Southeast University, to conduct special research and in-depth exchanges focusing on the formulation of the "15th Five-Year Plan", discipline construction, talent training, and other themes. The purpose of this research is to learn from the advanced experience of brother schools and lay the foundation for the high-quality development of the school in the next five years.

Fei Qingguo, Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering, Southeast University, extended a warm welcome to the delegation of our school. He pointed out that the two schools have maintained a profound origin and close cooperative relations for a long time, and have achieved remarkable results in discipline construction, scientific research cooperation, and talent training. Facing the new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation, Dean Fei Qingguo expects the two schools to further expand cooperation areas and innovate coordination mechanisms during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period to jointly promote the innovative development of the mechanical engineering discipline. Sun Dongke, Vice Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering, Southeast University, systematically introduced the school's historical evolution, development status, and future vision, focusing on sharing the innovative measures and outstanding achievements in the construction of "Double First-Class" disciplines, organized scientific research, and high-level achievement transformation.
Zhang Zhongqiang, Dean of our school, detailed the development status and landmark achievements of our school in recent years from the aspects of faculty team construction, discipline characteristic refinement, professional optimization and layout, and innovative talent training. He said that he hopes to learn from the excellent experience of the School of Mechanical Engineering, Southeast University, through this research and promote various undertakings of our school to a new level.
In the discussion and exchange session, the two sides conducted enthusiastic and in-depth discussions on topics such as artificial intelligence empowering education and teaching reform, high-level teaching resource construction, optimization of internal school governance, refinement of scientific research directions and team building, innovation of graduate classification training models, laboratory safety management and operation mechanisms, high-level talent introduction and training strategies, construction of diversified assessment and evaluation systems, improvement of undergraduate, master's and doctoral enrollment quality, intensive management of scientific research venues, and open sharing of large-scale instruments and equipment. Both sides agreed that the normalized exchange mechanism should be further strengthened to promote the implementation of substantive cooperation.
Secretary Pan Hongjun expressed his sincere thanks to the School of Mechanical Engineering, Southeast University for its warm reception and selfless sharing in his summary. He said that this research and exchange not only promoted mutual learning between the two schools, but also provided valuable reference for the formulation of the "15th Five-Year Plan" and comprehensive reform of our school. He hoped that this exchange would serve as a new starting point to promote the cooperation between the two sides to a wider range and deeper level.

After the forum, the delegation of our school visited the laboratories of the School of Mechanical Engineering, Southeast University on site, and learned in detail about its spatial layout, management model, and advanced technology application.
