On May 28, relying on Jiangsu University's "Yiyou" Sci-Tech Innovation Workstation and "Yiyou" Sci-Tech Innovation Counselor Studio, the School of Mechanical Engineering, together with the Student Community Working Committee of Jiangsu University and Hongjiang Academy, held the practical and innovative education activity of "Enterprises Entering the Academy: Guiding Careers for Future, Cultivating New Talents through Competitions" and the defense meeting of the "Danieli Cup" Metallurgical Equipment Innovation Design Competition in the conference room of Hongjiang Academy.

The activity invited Miao Yu (HR Director of Danieli Metallurgical Equipment (China) Co., Ltd.), Chen Zhenqiao (Technical Director), Yu Hairong (Training Supervisor), Feng Jie (Recruitment Supervisor), and Chen Xiuxiang (Deputy Director of the Department of Mechanical Design Engineering of the School) to serve as judges. Ye Xin, Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Office of the School of Mechanical Engineering, hosted the activity.

The "Danieli Cup" Metallurgical Equipment Innovation Design Competition was co-sponsored by the School of Mechanical Engineering and Danieli Metallurgical Equipment (China) Co., Ltd. Since its official launch in March this year, the competition has widely collected entries from the school, and finally selected 11 teams to enter the final defense.
The defense session was carried out in a rigorous and orderly atmosphere. At the beginning, the host introduced the members of the expert review panel and systematically explained the defense process, scoring standards and key review points. Subsequently, each participating team took the stage to report in turn, and gave in-depth explanations around the innovative design of shearing machines, covering aspects such as dimensional structure design, shearing force calculation, and 3D modeling.
The expert review panel conducted a comprehensive evaluation and professional comments from the dimensions of the project's innovation, integrity, design rationality and team collaboration ability, which fully reflected the important significance of this competition in cultivating students' engineering practice ability and innovation awareness. Finally, taking this competition as a starting point, Miao Yu and Chen Zhenqiao shared and communicated in a simple and in-depth way on how to carry out innovative design, and the students present had a lively discussion and exchange.
This activity not only provided a practical platform for participating students to demonstrate their engineering literacy and design ability, but also effectively promoted the two-way communication between college students and industry experts in the competition process. By inviting enterprise R&D backbones to enter the academy to conduct innovative project guidance, it further expanded students' professional vision and engineering cognition, and strengthened the in-depth integration between theoretical learning and practical application.
In the future, the school will continue to deepen the school-enterprise cooperation and academy collaboration mechanism, expand the breadth and depth of students' practical innovation, help realize the organic connection between student community innovation education and scientific research practice education, and promote the all-round growth of top innovative talents in diverse fields.
