On the afternoon of January 3, 2024, the School of Mechanical Engineering and the College of Agricultural Engineering jointly held a curriculum ideology and politics training session in Room 802 of Sanshan Building. The training session was specially invited by Professor Huang Juan, the national first-class course leader of the School of Mechanical Engineering and a renowned teacher at Jiangsu University, and Professor Wang Hongyu, the national first-class course leader and co-leader of the national first-class major. The session was presided over by Vice Dean Xu Zhengying, and more than 30 teachers from the School of Mechanical Engineering and the College of Agricultural Engineering attended the training.
First, Professor Huang Juan presented on the theme of "Teaching Practice of Curriculum Ideology and Politics Based on Engineering Cases." She explained the development process of the provincial-level industry-education integration course "Engineering Graphics" from four aspects: curriculum reform, ongoing curriculum development, blended teaching practice, and exploration of curriculum ideology and politics. She emphasized how to integrate knowledge points with practical cases, and how to connect these cases with national development and national rejuvenation in the actual teaching process. This approach not only enhances the cultivation of students' abilities through the curriculum but also provides a good demonstration of curriculum ideology and politics teaching for the participating teachers.
Professor Wang Hongyu presented on the theme of "Construction Path and Implementation Strategy of Ideological and Political Teaching Content System in Engineering Courses." He explained the implementation path of curriculum ideology and politics in the teaching of the provincial-level industry-education integration course "Manufacturing Engineering and Technology." He proposed the construction concept of integrating curriculum ideology and politics teaching with non-technical factors in professional certification, aiming to achieve resonance between them. He also constructed a "1+2+x" teaching model for curriculum ideology and politics. Professor Wang has promoted this teaching model in courses such as the excellence class, "Interchangeability and Measurement Technology," and "Introduction to Mechanical Engineering" in our college, achieving good practical results.
At the end of the training, Vice Dean Xu Zhengying pointed out in her summary that the purpose of this training activity was to help teachers deeply understand the connotation and significance of curriculum ideology and politics, master the methods of exploring and extracting ideological and political elements, and enhance their own abilities in curriculum ideology and politics. The two professors provided excellent demonstrations of curriculum ideology and politics teaching. She hoped that young teachers from both colleges could learn from them, continue to strengthen the exploration and practice of curriculum ideology and politics, identify appropriate ideological and political elements for their own courses, design innovative teaching methods, and contribute their own strength to cultivating excellent undergraduate talents with comprehensive development in moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor education.
