Supported by the Jiangsu Provincial Government Scholarship for Studying Abroad, Dr. Shen Xiang, a teacher of our college, was in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) machinery from March 21, 2017 to March 20, 2018. With the Department of Materials Engineering, a one-year research study was conducted. Founded in 1869, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) is a prestigious public comprehensive university in the Midwest. The university is one of Nebraska's top universities, and its teaching is rigorously known as a public ivy. It enjoys a reputation in various disciplines and fields and has produced four Nobel Prize winners. The University of Nebraska at the University of Lincoln is located in the Midwest of the United States. Because the school's geographical location is relatively remote and its external temptations are relatively small, it is a good place to sit still and engage in scientific research.
As a world famous university, UNL not only has rich research resources, but also reflects to some extent the new trends of global high-tech development. For example, robot manufacturing, 3D printing, etc. are key research directions for its great investment; Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering In addition to setting up conventional mechanics laboratories, there are well-equipped materials laboratories, chemical laboratories, and biological laboratories, providing a good platform for multidisciplinary research with mechanical engineering as the main body. Collaborative advisor Dr. Linxia Gu (Associate Professor of Lifetime) is engaged in multi-scale modeling, revascularization, and design and optimization of medical devices. More than 80 research papers have been published, including the international top journal Journal of Biomechanical Engineering -Transactions of the ASME, Journal of Medical Engineering & Technology, Journal of Medical Devices - Transactions of the ASME and others.
During the visit, Dr. Shen Xiang worked together with researchers of the research group to study and use the biomechanics laboratory of the UNL Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering for numerical simulation of medical stents, including the design of different stent structures and different cones. The impact of the balloon on the expansion performance of stents, etc.; these efforts have expanded the research field and have achieved some innovative results.
During the one-year study of visiting scholarship, lectures by experts and scholars from various fields were exhaustive. Through listening to the wonderful reports of scholars, they constantly updated their original knowledge fields, broadened their horizons of science and technology, and increased their experience. During the visit, he also learned more about UNL's teaching management and teacher's teaching mode by listening to some professional courses.
After returning home, he will use research methods, advanced technologies, and management methods learned abroad to use scientific research, disciplines, and professional construction, strengthen international exchanges and cooperation, and contribute to the internationalization of schools and schools and the development of disciplines.
