On Nov. 15 to 22, 2013, ASME 2013 International Mechanical Engineering Congress was held in San Diego, California, United States. The annual ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition is a premier global conference that focuses on today's technical challenges, research updates and breakthrough innovations that are shaping the future of engineering. The Congress convenes more than 4000 engineers, scientists and technologists of all disciplines from all over the world for the purposes of exploring solutions to global challenges and for the advancement of engineering excellence worldwide.

Professor Ping Yang’s research group from Jiangsu University were invited to attend the Congress and presented a paper “Random Vibration Response of a Spur Gear Pair with Periodic Stiffness and Backlash” at the Congress. The presentation aroused great interest and concern from scholars, and the paper was collected in conference proceedings for the public offering worldwide.

During the Congress, Professor Ping Yang‘s research group had a lively and in-depth discussion with famous experts from all over the world on current hot issues in mechanical engineering such as dynamics, heat transfer, micro-nano manufacturing, electronic packaging and smart design. By participating in this Congress, we grasp the latest international research frontier in the field of mechanical engineering, present research achievements of the school, and increase the international influence of our mechanical Engineering discipline in relative fields.
