On October 25-28, a delegation of 12 students and faculties from school of mechanic engineering at Jiangsu University, with other 400 attendees from different universities, research institutes and business enterprises, attended the 15th National Conference on Non-traditional Machining (NCNTM) held in Nanjing Aeronautics and Astronautics University, by Non-traditional Machining branch of CMES. This conference was hosted by Professor Zhu Di, the academician from CAS and NAAU.

On the conference, six themes were presented and hotly discussed including electrical discharge machining (EDM), micro-EMD, wire-EDM, electrochemical machining processing (ECM), Additive Manufacturing, and laser processing. Professor Zhou Jianzhong, director of laser technology institute of JSU was invited to host the last theme.

Non-traditional Machining branch held its 10th general election during the session, Academician Zhu Di was appointed as the director and Professor Zhou Jianzhong was hired as the executive director.

NCNTM is the largest comprehensive academic conference in domain of non-traditional machining. The active involvements of students and faculties from JSU as well as their research achievements have strengthened their exchanges with domain experts, also made them win the high praise of hosting entities and the society.
