On August 26, the discipline construction seminar was held by the Optical Engineering, hosted by Professor Yonghong Fu, the leader of Optical Engineering discipline. Professor Ren Naifei,the dean of School of Mechanical Engineering,Professor Wang Yawei, the party secretary of College of Science and other team members attended the meeting. In the meeting, the leaders of all sub-directions introduced the research contents, current developments and construction targets. Then professor Fu made a deep analysis on the serious situations faced by Optical Engineering: low level of research team, lacking hardware support and having no outstanding achievements. Meanwhile, Professor Fu also pointed out the advantages of our discipline: young team, active thinking, strong scientific research ability and great potential for development. After that, all members discussed the overall development goals and development measures of this discipline.

Through this seminar, participants have more clear and thorough understanding on the current situation of optical engineering discipline and they also clarified the construction targets and development measures of Optical Engineering.
