The 5th Plenum of Optoelectronic Information Science and Engineering Major Teaching Advisory Board under the Ministry Education & Optoelectronic Major Summit Forum were held in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia Province, on 17th - 20th, July, 2015. It was hosted by Inner Mongolia University of Technology. Hong-bing Yao from the Optoelectronic information Department attended the forum. More than 187 participants from 82 colleges and universities, 9 companies and publishing units attended.

President Pei-hua Gu of Shantou university, Deputy Director Yong Zhang of Certification department of the Higher Education Evaluation Center of the Ministry of Education, Deputy Secretary-general Hong-tao Suo of China Optics and Optoelectronics Manufacturers Association were invited to make special reports. The annual work of the Sub-Committee in 2014-2015 was summarized, and the establishment of national standards for teaching quality, the development of engineering education major certification, textbook compilation and contests were in detail teased out. Meanwhile, the Sub-Committee 2015-2016 annual work plan and schedule was arranged. The information of national integrated innovation curriculum development, professional education reform, personnel training program, peer learning, flip teaching, practical training, course construction, practical teaching, innovative ability training, MOOCs and other teaching reform experience in Optoelectronic Major were shared.

This seminar will improve our major construction quality of Optoelectronic Information Science and Engineering, and will have accelerative impact on work of international major certification.
