Collaborative Innovation Symposium on Laser Technology & its Application organized by Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics (WNLO) of China was held in Huazhong University of Science and Technology from June 17 to June 18. More than 30 well-known scholars majoring in laser technology and its industrial applicationfrom domestic famous universities, research institutes and enterprises attended the conference. Professor Jianzhong Zhou from school of mechanical engineering Jiangsu University was invited to attend the forum.

During the two days of the meeting, the organizing committee arranged 28 speakers to give lectures on laser device and its preparation, advanced laser processing technology and main industrial applications etc. Professor Jianzhong Zhou was invited to make a presentation about “ Research and Application on Laser Peening in Strengthening and Forming of Key Structural Parts”. He introduced the characteristic work and progress in the application research of laser shock wave technology by his research team, which was highly praised by the attendants.

According to the development and trend of laser technology and its industrial application during the “13th five-year-plan”, the Forum had a discussions how to realize collaborative innovation of production, learning, research and application. During the conference, the delegates visited the WNLO. The first-class research conditions of the laboratory and its high-level research achievements in aerospace left a deep impression on visitors.
