Nov.13-16, the 13th joint meeting of the Presidents of the School of Mechanical Engineering and department chairmen was held in Jiangsu University, charged by Jiangsu University, Jiangsu University of Science and Technology. More than 450 presidents and department chairmen attended the meeting, from More than 170 universities. The theme of the meeting was "the construction of mechanical engineering and the training of innovative talents”. The opening ceremony was chaired by Ren Naifei, the director of the School of Mechanical Engineering of Jiangsu University.

At the opening ceremony, the Yangtze River scholar Jia Zhenyuan made a speech, from Dalian University of technology. Yuan Shouqi, the President of Jiangsu University, the chairman of this joint meeting made his welcome speech. He introduced the educational experience and achievements of our school, and the construction of innovative talents, excellent talents, and international talent training were also introduced.
The joint meeting of the presidents of mechanical engineering and department chairmen is a platform and bridge to gather the talents of mechanical engineering nationwide, held annually. The success of this meeting will promote the construction of mechanical engineering and enhance the training of innovative talents, will certainly play an important role to improve influence of the school of mechanical engineering of Jiangsu University.
