Professor Xu Lijun was invited to Jiangsu University to release an academic report entitled on "Research Progress of TDLAS Tomography Technology for Aeroengine Combustion Monitoring" In the morning of Oct. 31, 2015. Professor Xu from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics is a distinguished professor of the Ministry of Education Changjiang Scholars, and National Outstanding Youth. He takes charge of the deputy director of the School of Instrument Science and OPO Electronics Engineering. More than 200 researchers and graduate students were attended the academic report. Professor Ren Naifei and Ren Xudong, who are the dean and vice dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering respectively attended the meeting too.

In light of the importance of aeroengine combustion monitoring in aviation flight safety, professor Xu introduced the status and the development trend of aeroengine combustion on-line monitoring system based on TDLAS tomography technique. He also analyzed ultrasonic tomography, resistance tomography, capacitance tomography, TDLAS tomography and other tomography technology. The report won bursts of applause of the audiences. After the report, they made an In-depth and extensive exchanges and interactions.

Professor Xu, Winner of National Outstanding Youth Science Foundation, leading personnel of Youth Science and Technology Innovation in MRCT, new century talent of Ministry of Education, has recently took charge of 15 research projects, including the National Outstanding Youth Fund, Basic Research Project of National Natural Science Foundation on Scientific Instrument, “973” Plan, “863” Plan, National Major Project, and Scientific and Technological Support Project, etc. His research interests now focus on the theory and key technology of process tomography, multiphase flow measurement, laser measurement and combustion monitoring. He obtained a series of independent innovation achievements, for example, the first prize in Ministry of Education Technology Invention, the first prize in Science and Technology Award of China Instrumentation Institute, the second prize in Tianjin Natural Science Award, and the Tianjin Youth Science and Technology Award, etc..
