From October 30th to November 1st, JICS academic annual meeting and the fourth meeting of the eighth session Council was held at Jiangsu University. The councils of the eighth session and more than 90 representatives from 19 universities including Southeast University, Nanjing University of Aeronautics & Astronautics, Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Suzhou University& Jiangsu University, and 18 enterprises including Jiangsu Hongguang Instrument Co. Ltd. attended the meeting. Prof. Ren Naifei & Prof. Ren Xudong, the leader and vice leader of School of Mechanical Engineering, were invited to attend the meeting. The meeting was host by Professor Chen Xiyuan from SEU, the secretary general of JICS.
Prof. Ren Naifei made a speech on behalf of our university and school. He expressed a warm welcome to the representatives, and briefly introduced the development achievements of School of Mechanical Engineering. Prof. Song Aiguo, the routine vice chairman of the Council and the dean of School of Instrument Science and Engineering, SEU, did the Council work report. The meeting specially invited Prof. Xu Lijun, the special hired professor of Changjiang Scholars Program of Ministry of Education, National Outstanding Youth and the vice president of School of Instrument Science & Optoelectronic Engineering, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, to make an academic report on “Progress of research on TDLAS imaging technique in aero generator combustion monitoring”, and National Outstanding Youth Prof. Zhu Jigui from School of Precision Instrument, Tianjin University to make an academic report on “Body precision measurement and control under the network environment”. Prof. Song Shoupeng from Jiangsu University introduced development of Department of Instrument Science & Engineering of Jiangsu University and made an academic report on “Progress of sparse sampling technique for ultrasonic sensor array”. In addition, 16 representatives of teachers and postgraduate students carried out academic communication.
JICS is 5A society of Jiangsu Province. The academic annual meeting provides the latest research achievements on instrument science and technology, which promotes the rapid development of instrument industry in China, especially in the Yangzi River Delta.
