On Wednesday July 22, 2015, the Florida State University College of Engineering Chair Professor Jim P. Zheng in U.S.A. was invited to visit the School of Mechanical Engineering by Professor Chaojun Yang. On the morning of July 22, the meeting was held in the school meeting room. At the meeting Professor Zheng discussed the international cooperative education, the professional certification, the international exchange project plans and so on with some teacher delegates friendly, and the preliminary cooperation intention was researched.

Party Secretary Jianzhong Zhou presided at the meeting, and Deputy Dean Wei Chen, Deputy Party Secretary Hongjun Pan, Deputy Dean Xudong Ren and some related academic department directors, including Director Xiliang Zhang at the Department Measurement Technology & Instrumentation, Branch Secretary Chaojun Yang at the Department of Mechanical Design, Deputy Director Yuqin Guo at the Department of Machinery Manufacturing, Deputy Director Fangwei Xie at the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and Director Liming Zhang in the School Office, also attended the meeting.

Dr. Jim P. Zheng is now the Sprint Eminent Scholar Chair Professor in College of Engineering, Florida State University. He has ever worked at US Army Research Laboratory in the Sensors and Electron Devices Directorate located at Fort Monmouth, NJ for about 5 years. He has published more than 100 articles in scholarly journals in the fields of nano-sensors, energy storage, fuel cells, photonics, and thin film growth, and been awarded 18 patents. He has won numerous research grants from many governmental agencies such as NSF, NASA, and DOD. He has received National Research Council Fellow Award, Army Research & Development Achievement Award, NASA Faculty Research Award, and Progress Energy Professional Development Award. Now he is also member of Materials Research Society, Electrochemical Society, and Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.
