Research interests

1.Multi-mode guided wave diagnostic instrument of industrial pipe. Pipelines work commonly in a poor condition, prone to fatigue damage, corrosion or even leakage caused by pipeline defects.China's various pipes are very long while the efficiency of corresponding non-destructive testing technology detection is particularly low and detection distance is short.This project uses the ultrasonic guided wave whose propagation will change if it meet defect in the pipeline to achieve the monitoring of pipeline health through the collection and analysis of defect echo.

The product of this project mainly includes multi-mode guided wave sensor, computer software, sensor and fixture. The technology of this project mainly includes incentive multi-mode guided wave technology, composite sensor, array arrangement technology, feature database and neural network defect Signal analysis system.

This product could complete the assessment and positioning of pipeling defects qualitively and quantitatively and a long-distanced, efficiency and precise monitoring of pipelines.

2.Method for manufacturing composite double-metal fracture splitting connecting rod.The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a composite double-metal fracture splitting connecting rod,comprising the steps of: providing a moveable spacer at a large end of a mold cavity of a connecting rod,to divide the mold into two separate parts; casting a connecting rod body and a connecting rod cap with material for the main body of the connecting rod; removing the spacer from the mold cavity when the majority of material is solidified, then injecting material for a fracture splitting region into an empty mold cavity obtained after the removal of the spacer, and metallurgically bonding the two types of material to form a composite double-metal casting; then, separating the connecting rod body from the connecting rod cap by a fracture splitting apparatus along preset fracture surfaces.

3.Composite strengthening and crack prevention of structure in fatigue key parts.The small holes, rounded corners, steps, troughs, etc.,are always in the stress concentration area of the key components, such as small holes, fillets, impellers, gears, bearings, connecting rods, camshafts, crankshafts, rockers and other fatigue key structural parts, which could be prone to the crack caused by fatigue and stress erosion, affecting directly the life and reliability of key structural components.These problems are also urgent to be solved in the field of maintenance of civil and military components such as the repair of blades.

The project uses laser shock, electromagnetic pulse, magnetostrictive, mechanical shot peening, laser cladding, laser welding and other technology to significantly improve the fatigue life of small holes, fillet, step, groove and other key components.
