Research Interests
1.Flexible mechatronics and soft robot
Large deformation, high conductivity intelligent materials. Superelastic conducting fibres providing improved properties and new functionalities are needed for diverse applications.

   
2.Green energy manufacturing equipment

Aiming at poor surface light absorption of solar cells, slow photogenerated carrier transmission and carrier collection, the non-traditional chemical manufacturing technology of crystalline silicon solar cells has been developed by considering the battery materials, micro-nano structure and surface interface control.                                                   
3.Intelligent laser manufacturing technology & equipment
Laser shock processing (LSP), as a novel and emerging surface modification technology, has been increasingly used to strengthen the surface layers of metallic components because it can result in deeper compressive residual stress layer with 1-mm depth and induce gradient nanostructures in the surface layer of metallic components.
LSP is a cold machining process with unique characteristics of super-high pressure (several GPa to TPa), ultrafast (several tens of nanoseconds), and ultrahigh strain rate (up to 107 s−1). LSP provides a two- to three-fold increase in Titanium alloy integrated disk.
                                   
4.Ultra low temperature energy storage
Energy storage devices under extreme conditions for applications such as aerospace, military, etc., while solving problems such as the efficient use of electric vehicles in winter and alpine regions.
                                   
5.Picking robot with bionic design
Integrating flexible tactile perception and large-deformation artificial muscles to actuate the end effector of the agricultural robot's dexterous hand. With the help of 3D vision, it can achieve efficient picking of fruits and tea.
