On September 12, the School of Mechanical Engineering carried out a mental health education lecture in the lecture hall on the seventh floor of the College. The lecture invited Wu Ting, deputy director of the Mental Health Education Center of the University, to give a lecture, which was attended by 2023 graduate students of the College. Ye Xin, the graduate counselor of the college, presided over the lecture.

First of all, Wu Ting took the adaptation process of postgraduate stage as a starting point to introduce an in-depth discussion with postgraduates on the understanding and experience of happiness. Afterwards, Wu Ting explained in detail the four aspects of self-identity establishment, mental health, interpersonal communication, and marital problems to the graduate students, and further shared the challenges faced by the first-time graduate students in terms of adaptability, scientific research pressure, mentor-student relationship, and marital problems through the sharing of actual cases, and gave specific strategies and suggestions. Finally, Wu Ting introduced the ways of mental health counseling in the university and Jiangsu Province, and encouraged everyone to consult the counseling center in time when they encounter psychological problems.

This seminar further helped the new graduate students of the college to better adapt to graduate student life and cope with the pressure of scientific research, and provided practical advice for their interpersonal and marital problems. The college would continue to strengthen the mental health education for graduate students and escort their learning and growth.
