Teachers and students of the School of Mechanical Engineering participated in the 19th National Academic Conference on Special Machining

    The 19th National Academic Conference on Specialty Machining, hosted by the Specialty Machining Branch of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, was successfully held in Hangzhou from 26th to 27th March. More than 700 experts, scholars, scientists, and student representatives from colleges and universities, research institutes, and enterprises in the field of special processing attended the event. Professor Zhou Jianzhong, Professor Ye Yunxia, Researcher Huang Shu, Associate Professor Xu Kun, Associate Professor Meng Xiankai and a group of related teachers and postgraduates engaged in the research of laser technology in the research direction of laser processing in the School of Mechanical Engineering attended the meeting.

    This year's National Academic Conference on Special Processing set up the Fourth Laser Composite Manufacturing Co-innovation Forum, EDM Technology Innovation and Development Forum, Electrochemical Processing Technology Forum, Ultrasonic Processing Technology Forum, Additive Manufacturing Technology Forum, Microfabrication and Composite Special Processing Technology Forum, and other six sessions, with a total of more than 160 invitations to report and exchange of thesis reports, covering the mainstream technology areas in the field of special processing.

    In the Laser Composite Manufacturing Co-Innovation Forum, Associate Professor Xu Kun made a report on "Laser Induced Electrodeposition for the Preparation of Ultra-thin Fixed-Domain Gold Coating", which was well received by the peers. Yanqiang Gou, a doctoral student of Prof. Jianzhong Zhou, reported on "Preparation of Superhydrophobic Functional Surfaces of 2024-T351 Aluminum Alloy by Laser Impact/Etching", which systematically introduced the research progress of the group in the preparation of superhydrophobic surfaces of aerospace aluminum alloys and strengthening of the matrix materials in the areas of theory, numerical simulation, and experimental application. The research progress of the group has attracted great attention from the delegates and was awarded as the excellent student report of this conference.

    During the conference, teachers and students of the college and the participating experts and scholars had a warm exchange and discussion on topics such as the exploration of disciplinary frontiers, basic research, industrial applications, etc., which laid a good foundation for academic cooperation and technological innovation.
