From July 17, 2018 to June 23, 2018, the 7th International Conference on Laser Peening and Related Phenomena was held in Singapore. Prof. Michael FITZPATRICK, Chairman of the Organizing Committee At the invitation of Prof. Minghui HONG, Professor Ren Xudong and some graduate students of our institute were invited to Singapore to participate in this international academic conference.

During the meeting, Professor Ren Xudong's research group gave an academic report entitled "Evolution of microstructure and grain refinement mechanism of pure nickel induced by laser shock peening". The group was introduced to the participants and scholars to use the laser peening technology to prepare nanometers on the metal surface. The latest research results obtained by crystal structure, and prospects for the application prospect of this research direction, the content of the report was highly praised by the peers and scholars, and the research results of the research group were highly praised. In addition, Professor Ren Xudong participated in the conference report, keynote report and oral report of the relevant sub-conferences of the conference, and visited and exchanged the wall newspaper exhibition area, negotiated with relevant experts and reached a cooperation and exchange intention, which achieved the expected results.
