On the afternoon of January 3th, School of Mechanical Engineering invited the US General Electric Engineer-Dr. Ling Jiayin from Massachusetts Institue of Technology to delivered a lecture named “How to spend the university life?”. Institute Deputy Party Secretary Pan Hongjun hosted the lecture and the 2016 mechanical major students attended the lecture.

During the lecture, Dr. Ling shared the experimence with students around the topic “ How to spend the university life?” with his own experimence. He generalized the university life with three points: Personnel, Emotion, Study, and articulated these points in detail. He encouraged students to practice the ability of making choices, building love relationship and doing homeworks well. The content of this lecture is close to the students’ life, which gives more inspiration to students and the atmosphere during lecture was humorous and interesting.

This lecture expands the horizen of students and deepens the understanding of university life, which is benifical to help students plan their own university life more systematically and to achieve their own comprehensive development.
